Frequently asked questions
What is the OmniKit Chrome extension?
The OmniKit Chrome extension is a free productivity extension from omnikitapp.net with two tabs: AI Content Humanizer (local scan + optional rewrite) and Image Optimizer (local compress, convert, and resize). It uses Manifest V3 and connects to OmniKit only for humanizer rewrites and account auth — not for image bytes.
Is the OmniKit extension free?
Yes to install and use. Local AI writing scans and all image processing are free. Humanize rewrites spend OmniKit guest or monthly credits, matching the web AI Content Humanizer.
Does the extension upload my images?
No. Image compression, conversion, and resize run entirely in your browser. Files never leave your device. Only humanizer rewrites and login/bootstrap call omnikitapp.net.
Can I compress an image to 100 KB with the extension?
Yes. Upload or drop an image, then click Under 100 KB (or 150 KB, 200 KB, 250 KB, 500 KB, 1000 KB). Output downloads locally — same presets as the web Image Optimizer.
Does OmniKit bypass GPTZero, Turnitin, or other AI detectors?
No. OmniKit improves cadence and reduces generic AI phrasing. It is not marketed for detector evasion. Use it to sound human, then verify facts yourself.
How is OmniKit different from QuillBot’s browser extension?
QuillBot bundles paraphrase and grammar in a suite you may already pay for. OmniKit leads with a free tell-scan, operator calculators on the web, and honest detector policy. See the QuillBot comparison page for a pick-if table.
Where is the official Chrome Web Store listing?
Install from the Chrome Web Store when published, or load the developer build from omnikitapp.net while review is pending. Always verify the publisher domain is omnikitapp.net — not unrelated “OmniKit” apps.
